Website and enquiry terms
These terms cover the website at hearingaidsmitcham.co.uk and every enquiry sent through its form. The site is published by Hearing Aids Mitcham. Reading the pages or using the form means you accept what is set out below, so it is worth a few minutes of your time.
The whole of the arrangement
Stated plainly, this is what goes on: Hearing tests Our part is writing the pages and passing on what you send. We are not the specialist, we do not test anyone's hearing, we do not fit or supply anything, and nobody from here will be turning up at your door.
Who owns the pages, and what you may do with them
Read as much as you want, as often as you want, and print a page if it helps you talk things over with a relative or take it to an appointment. The text, the photographs, the layout and the code behind them belong to Hearing Aids Mitcham or to those who licensed them to us. What you may not do is republish any of it, pass it off as your own, load our pages inside a frame on another site, run scrapers or bulk download tools across it, or use it to mislead anyone.
Why nothing here can tell you about your own hearing
The pages are written for people in general, and the limit of what they can do is set by what this site is: Hearing tests Nothing here amounts to a hearing assessment, a written report or clinical advice about one particular person. A page cannot look in your ears or measure anything, and it is no substitute for being seen in person. Use it to understand the subject, then let a professional do the testing.
What pressing send does, and what it does not
The form is free to use and no contract comes into being between you and us when you send it, because we are not the ones who would be doing the work. Here is what happens to it: Your enquiry, with the details you gave, is passed to one specialist firm covering the area you told us about, so that they can contact you about it. They use it only to answer your enquiry and to arrange any visit or work you agree with them, and from that point they are responsible for how they handle it. We do not pass your details to anyone else for their own use. Anything after that, whether an appointment, a quotation, a test or a purchase, is agreed between you and the specialist on their own terms, not ours. One thing you should know about how this site keeps going: The specialist may pay us when we pass the enquiry on. You pay us nothing, and you are free to get quotes from anyone else. You remain entirely free to approach any other provider, and to compare whatever you are offered.
What the specialist answers for
From the first telephone call onward, the firm that contacts you is responsible for its own conduct: the test it carries out, the advice it gives, the prices it quotes, the equipment it supplies and any guarantee or aftercare attached to it. If something goes wrong with any of that, raise it with them first, because they are the ones who can put it right. We would still like to hear about it, since it tells us something we need to know.
Correct and available, but not promised
Care goes into what is published here, and errors are corrected once we learn of them, yet we give no warranty that every sentence is accurate, complete or up to date. Nor can we promise the site will be reachable at any particular moment. Pages may be rewritten, moved or taken down whenever we judge it right.
How far our responsibility reaches
Publishing pages and forwarding an enquiry is the entirety of our role, and so far as the law allows we are not answerable for loss, cost or damage arising from your use of this site, from reliance on anything you read here, or from the acts or omissions of a specialist you deal with. Three things stand outside that limit: liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, and anything else the law does not permit us to exclude. None of this touches what the law gives you anyway: If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms takes away the rights the law gives you, including your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Where a page points off this site
Occasionally we link outward. Those websites belong to other people, we have no hand in what they publish and no control over whether they stay up or stay accurate, and a link from us is not an endorsement of them or of anything they sell.
Later versions of this page
These terms can be revised. The version displayed here at the time you use the site is the one that applies to that use, and a later revision does not reach back to an enquiry you have already sent.
Which law, and which courts
These terms, and any dispute about them or about this site, are governed by the law of the place where we are established, and the courts there are the ones to hear it. If you are a consumer, that does not take away your right to bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live.
If you need to raise something
A question about these terms, a page that reads oddly, or unhappiness with the way an enquiry was dealt with: all of it should come through the contact page, and the more detail you give the quicker we can get to the bottom of it. If your complaint concerns your personal information, this is the route it takes: If you complain to us about how we have handled your personal information, we acknowledge it within 30 days and reply as soon as we can.
